Scotland Street School Museum
Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, this is Scotland's only Museum of Education. Classrooms from three different eras are reconstructed - from Victorian times, the Second World War, and the 1960s. Look up your old school (or your kids') in the archive of schol photographs, and there's a family activity trail too. Even better, you can take a step back in time with the regular 'Back to School with Miss Baxter' days, where children aged 5+ (and adults!) can dress up in period costume and find out what it was really like to go to school in the 1800's or during World War 2.
Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday 10am to 5pm, Friday and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Please note: Scotland Street School Museum is closed to the public on Mondays.
